For such a young winery to be given such acclaim in the world's largest wine show means that we are doing something right. Niki adds "Off course having Steve Dodd as winemaker helps! Well done Steve! It just proves that dedication and being passionate about what we are doing pays off, and all of us here at Kladis Estate are dedicated to the advancement of our brand.
Kladis Estate's first vintage was in 2002, thus making these award winning wines our winery's third and fifth vintages. To be such a young producer and to be given recognition of such a high standard attests to the dedication and determination of the whole team at here Kladis Estate.

planned to be in Vienna, 30th October. The news of the past few days will make this trip
worthwhile.
Both Jim &Niki Kladis, owners of Kladis Estate, say that “Winning a gold and silver medals in
wine show s of this calibre demonstrates that Shoalhaven wineries can stand up with the best in
the world for these varieties, one of which is grown at our Wandandian Vineyard.
As you may be aware Kladis Estate is a relatively new winery at Wandandian NSW, having
planted the vineyard in 1996, and producing its first vintage in 2002. Jim and Niki Kladis together
with Kladis Estate winemaker Steve Dodd are extremely happy to win such awards.
The win is not only a great result for Kladis Estate but further evidence that the boutique wineries
can compete against the industry’s largest and finest wineries, and succeed.
Kladis Estate Named in the White Book Wine 2007/2008
- one of the top 900 wineries in the world!
The Kladis Estate Winery received recognition as one of the
top 900 wineries in the world in the White Book of Wine 2007-2008. The
White Book of
wine is
the equivalent of James Halliday’s Wine Companion in and is available
in all German speaking nations. This book however differs from James
Halliday’s
Wine Companion in that it only covers the top wineries world wide based
on the results of the Vienna Wine Challenge ( the second largest Wine
Show in the World).
Both wines entered by Kladis Estate in 2007 AWC-Vienna
won medals (one gold and one silver) however, both these wines have
been awarded with a 5 glass rating in this book (this is the top rating
which
can be awarded for a wine which has been tasted) and it is the same
which was awarded for 2005 Dion Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon by James Halliday
in 2008 Wine Companion.
All of us at Kladis Estate are very proud of our results but more so
that we are achieving recognition for our winery and region at a world
level.

The awc vienna - international wine challenge is the second largest
international wine valuation and took place for the fourth time
in 2007.
In 2006, 280 independent oenologists and wine experts
from 13 nations tasted and valuated in a blind degustation
5118 wines out of 29 nations
of all five continents.
The presentation of the results and the trophies took
place in the course of the "Wine Gala Night 2007" at
the celebration hall of the City Hall of Vienna. In presence
of more than 3000 invited
experts and wine lovers the
wineworld focuses on this special day on the City Hall of Vienna. |
Our
2007 October function was held at
