KLADIS ESTATE WINES IN THE COMMUNITY

Kladis Estate Wines are committed to creating a positive impact in the society. Through support and sponsorship of chosen charities we are contributing to a better world. Some of our chosen charities include:

ESTIA Foundation of Australia

ESTIA'S MISSION STATEMENT:

To improve the opportunities for people with disabilities; to meaningfully integrate and participate in the life of the community and to provide the assistance and support that such people, their families and carers, may individually require to achieve this outcome.

ESTIA Foundation is an initiative of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.
This foundation was set up to provide 24 hour care for young adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. This service is open to all people residing in Sydney with respite houses available at Roselands and Gladesville.

ESTIA operates a respite program providing parents/carers of people with disabilities with a much needed break from the strenuous responsibility of caring for a disabled family member. Recently ESTIA achieved another milestone by providing permanent accommodation for those in need.

To be able to keep providing these important services with continuous improvement ESTIA needs help. At present this wonderful foundation is funded by the State Government of NSW and also relies heavily on fundraising and donations. The Kladis Group of Companies are proud sponsors of ESTIA. If you would like to contribute in any way please follow the links below to the relevant website.

Mick Young Scholarship Trust

Kladis Estate Wines is a proud sponsor of the Mick Young Scholarship Trust. MYST was established in 1997 and ten years on it continues to flourish. This is a wonderful initiative which annually awards scholarships to students studying at TAFE, universities and colleges across Australia. This is the only fund in Australia to give awards depending on financial need rather than academic achievements.

The Mick Young Scholarship Trust was set up in memory of the late Mick Young, a former Member of Parliament and Federal Cabinet Minister, who sought to enhance opportunities for financially disadvantaged people. He came from a battler’s background and knew that for some just a few hundred dollars can make the following of their dream possible.

Mick Young had an abiding belief: “Education is a right, not a privilege.” He knew that it was vital “to break the cycle of unemployment and disadvantage that can restrict a person’s potential”. “Break that cycle”, Mick would say, “and an individual’s place in the community will almost certainly be transformed.”

In the first year, MYST distributed $11,000 to 3 colleges and this year is planning to expand to 30 colleges and distribute $200,000 in scholarships across Australia. MYST encompasses areas as diverse as the Pilbara and Kimberley regions, Batchelor and Alice Springs, Rockhampton and Mt Isa as well as many other rural centres and, of course, all the capitals.

If you are interested in making a difference and donating to this worthy initiative you can contact MYST Event Manager Janine Young on 0422 371 706.

Mascot Juniors Rugby League Club Football Club

Founded in 1910 Mascot JRLFC is widely acknowledged as the oldest Junior League Club in Australia. With 34 teams , it is currently the largest club in the South Sydney Junior League and most successful, having won more Club Championships (11 years straight 1996/2006) and Premierships (including a record 15 in 2005) than any other club.

Mascot Football club has been a wonderful Junior League nursery over the years. It can point to six internationals that all played with Mascot as juniors. Percy Williams and brothers Alf and Frank O'Connor, George Treweek, Eric Lewis prior to the 2nd World War while Brian Hambly, Brian "Chicka" Moore, George Piggins and more recently Ian Roberts have all graduated from Mascot Oval to the Green and Gold of Australia.

Kladis Estate Wines are proud sponsors of Mascot Jets under 6 team. With this sponsorship we feel like we are making a contribution towards future generation of Australian sports stars rising up.

National Breast Cancer Council

Over the past ten years, the NBCF research programs have built a reputation of prestige and excellence through their rigorous peer-review processes that consider the projects quality, feasibility and relevance to breast cancer.

The NBCF is unique in its research funding as it is the only community organisation that awards funds specifically for research across the continuum of breast cancer - from genetics to treatment, to support and palliative care. Funds raised are directed to the best research in Australia – we are neither limited by state boundaries nor institutional policies. We have no vested interest other than ensuring we progress knowledge about breast cancer.

As a nation, we have all the ingredients to successfully push onwards towards the prevention, and eventual cure for breast cancer but the most important part of the recipe is you.

As a family organisation, the Kladis Group of Companies realised the necessity to support Breast Cancer Research. Niki’s best friend became a victim of a very aggressive form of breast cancer she died within a year of having beeng diagnosed, . The family was further touched by breast cancer five years ago when a close family member was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Kladis Estate support this organisation through donations and sponsorship of fund raising events in both Sydney and the Shoalhaven. Niki is one of the four members in the Shoalhaven who organise the Pink Ribbon Luncheon which takes place annually at Archer Racecourse in October

Some of the Breast Cancer events we support are:

  • Girl’s Night In at Curves Nowra
  • Trivia Night in support of Breast Cancer Research

Out of hospital, Starlight kids and their families can relax and enjoy family outings provided, or share a once-in-a-lifetime experience through wish granting.
ANZ Supports Starlight Children's Foundation in many ways including, selling merchandise in branches, raising funds at the ANZ Ladies Masters, partnering Starlight in developing our corporate Christmas cards, and other staff fundraisers.

The Kladis Group of Companies as ANZ customers support the banks fundraising efforts for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. For the past five years Kladis Wines support the ANZ Banks fundraising luncheon which takes place in Sydney annually through both sponsorship and donations.
